This saucepan comes pre-seasoned, meaning it’s ready to use right out of the box. To break it in, start with side dishes and rich sauces that incorporate butter or other fats. While it may seem like an ideal rice pot, we do not recommend using this saucepan for boiling water.
Yes. The 6-inch glass lid is included with the purchase of the saucepan.
Due to the nature of cast iron and its tendency to rust when exposed to moisture for long periods of time, we generally advise against boiling water in your saucepan. This piece performs best with dishes that incorporate oil or butter, which help maintain and strengthen the seasoning.

This is a robust and hefty saucepan love the glass lid and brass accent handle. Heats up evenly and retains heat after removing from stove. The finish is amazing on the inside, very smooth, and exterior finish is heirloom quality and is a very eye-catching pot. Youll never want to put this set away and leave it up for display. Make sure you thoroughly dry as the interior can develop rust if you don't dry completely.
We got 2 saucepans. One for us and one for our son. I don't think either one of us has used it yet but ours in on display on our kitchen island waiting to be used soon. It's a great addition to our Smithey collection
I have every piece of cast iron that smithey makes. The 1qt saucepan is just as beautiful as the rest. I haven’t used it yet and not sure I will.
